I recently read another person's blog and I absolutely love one of her statements:
Resist the Urge to Pick up Your Camera First.
In this modern age we all want to take a photo, show it off to the world, snap a selfie and then just move on to the next exciting thing. Why do we do this?! Social media has created monsters out of all of us, and yes I will be the first to admit that I am a photoaholic and document EVERYTHING that happens in my, my family and my son's life!!!! I want those memories preserved so we can look back on them and relive those awesome (or sometimes not-so-awesome) moments and memories! And we all want to share those moments with the world, because - seriously - what is life without Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and messaging?!?! 😆 j/k
But when we look back on those memories, can we honestly say to ourselves that we fully remember that moment? Or were we too caught up in getting the perfect shot?
I think to fully enjoy life and our awesome surroundings that we are all so blessed to have, we should try to take more time to step back and enjoy the moment!!! This is my goal for this year and years to come. There will be more sunsets, our kids will always give us funny faces, and we all know that the Grand Canyon isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
